Providing Google Workspace to Office 365 migration for small and medium-sized businesses
Google Workspace can be an excellent solution for businesses just starting out or for those with considerable experience with the software or those that have essential external software they don't want to part with. We prefer Office 365 because it includes almost everything, it's easy to use and is arguably the leading standard in secure productivity software.
We provide the tools and expertise to smoothly migrate from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365, whilst our data protection services keep your sensitive information secure throughout the process. Our staff are highly-skilled with migration processes and with both Google Workspace and Office 365, meaning you'll be in safe hands throughout and your environment will be setup for your success as soon as you start working with your new software.

Why migrate from Google Workspace to Office 365?
One service, one subscription
Office 365 is an incredibly comprehensive subscription. With some of our clients that were originally using Google Workspace, we found they were using a combination of different services, for example Google Workspace for file sharing and emails, Office 365 for Word and Excel, Slack for messaging and Zoom for video calls. With an Office 365 subscription, you can get all of the above and more under one service with software that integrates with one another, saving you time and money and refining your infrastructure.
AI capabilities
For companies interested in AI, Microsoft Copilot is an excellent business option under the Microsoft 365 umbrella. It seamlessly integrates with all Office 365 software to enrich your experience, including meeting recaps and note summaries in Teams, planning and drafting capabilities in Word, formulae and formatting assistance in Excel, a capable AI chat accessible online or on desktop, and much more. Having most of your day-to-day programs in the Office 365 environment really brings out the strengths of Copilot.
Underused apps
Office 365 has a lot of underused apps that come included in many licence subscriptions. These apps can often be used in place of extra licences outside of the 365 environment that can incur considerable extra costs. For example, such apps include Forms, allowing you to easily create surveys or questionnaires that can be utilised in many processes; Power BI, which enables smart, data-based decisions based on analysis and reports; Planner, which brings together all your tasks and projects in a simple to use program; and many more, including M365 certified apps from external developers.

Google Workspace to Microsoft Office 365 Migration FAQs
We use specialist migration tools alongside experienced engineers who ensure that everything lands in the right place with intent, not just transferred but structured correctly.
In Google Workspace, each Shared Drive has an owner and a set of members. In SharePoint, the equivalent is a site with defined permissions and document libraries. We work with you to determine the right structure, whether that means replicating what you had or taking the opportunity to reorganise things more logically, and then build that out in SharePoint with the appropriate permissions. The result is a clean, well-organised environment. We also ensure there is no data loss throughout the process.
Yes, though it is less a direct migration and more a case of setting up the equivalent in Microsoft 365. The correct home for this is now Microsoft Purview (previously called the Compliance Centre). Google Vault and Microsoft Purview work differently, so the policies themselves cannot be transferred directly. What we can do is review your existing Google Vault setup and configure the equivalent retention policies and legal holds within Purview to achieve the same outcome.
We use tools like these ourselves for email migrations, so we are certainly not dismissing them. They are good at what they do. The real question is whether you want to operate them yourselves or have an experienced team do it for you.
Migration tools require expertise to configure correctly. Errors in mapping, permissions or sequencing can lead to data loss, duplicated files or a chaotic destination environment that your team cannot navigate. Our engineers use these tools regularly and know how to get the best out of them and, crucially, how to avoid the common pitfalls. You also get the benefit of someone who understands your business: we are not just moving data, we are helping you land in a better, more organised place than where you started.
Yes. We can provide on-site training sessions, presentations and floor-walking support for your team following a migration. Switching from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365 involves a meaningful change in how people work day-to-day, and having someone available in person to answer questions and guide users through the new environment makes a significant difference to adoption rates. Remote training is also available if that is more convenient, and follow-up support through our helpdesk for questions that come up afterwards.
No. Your email will keep flowing throughout the migration. There may be a brief window where you are transitioning from one application to another, but messages continue to arrive without interruption. We typically carry out the final cutover overnight or at the weekend to minimise any impact on your working day.
For a 50-person organisation, you are typically looking at around four to six weeks from start to finish, and you will not experience any meaningful downtime during that period.
The process starts with a pre-stage migration, where the bulk of your historical data is transferred ahead of the cutover date. Towards the end, a delta migration captures any data created since the pre-stage began. Once everything is confirmed and working correctly, we cut over and your team continues working normally in their new environment.
The migration itself is a well-controlled, low-risk process when handled correctly. The key things we ensure are in place include: multi-factor authentication (MFA) active on both the source and destination environments, secure handling of any credentials needed during the process (we never accept these via email or plain text) and appropriate access controls throughout. We follow security best practice at every step.
