Choosing the right MDR service provider

Continuous improvement

We help those responsible for security understand the risks and options. Our process of continuous improvement of cyber security enables non-technical people to buy the right solution at the right time for them.

Trusted partners

Selecting the right smart tool is crucial in ensuring it performs as advertised. Selecting a trusted partner is equally, if not more, important. MDR interacts with many other components and security layers, such as Security Information and Event Management (SIEM).

These services require continuous investment in understanding, time spent monitoring and fine-tuning to maximise their effectiveness. This is what we do, so we're well-positioned to help you address your unique needs.

Managed Endpoint Detection & Response FAQs

What is Managed EDR and how does it compare to traditional anti-virus or in-house security operations?
Managed EDR (MDR) is essentially the modern evolution of anti-virus – think of it as anti-virus on steroids. Instead of only blocking known threats, MDR watches how your device behaves and flags anything suspicious, even if it doesn’t match a recognised attack. The “managed” part means a security team reviews those alerts, filters out the noise and escalates only the real risks to you. It often links with a 24/7 Security Operations Centre (SOC) for human investigation and can integrate with SIEM tools to show wider patterns across your environment. In-house IT teams rarely have the time or tools to do this level of behavioural monitoring, which is why MDR adds so much extra protection.
How can I evaluate and select the best Managed EDR provider for my business?

When choosing a Managed EDR provider, it’s important to look beyond the tool itself and focus on the team behind it. Good MSPs follow a proper lifecycle management process, meaning they review the market regularly and swap out tools when a better or more effective option becomes available – without you needing to manage that change.

You want a provider that trains its staff well, uses the technology properly and chooses tools based on performance rather than profit margin. In short: pick a smart company that uses smart tools, not just a tool in isolation.

What is the scope of your threat hunting services and how does it operate within the Managed EDR framework?
Our threat hunting focuses on activity across your endpoints – laptops, mobiles, desktops and servers – operating 24/7 as part of the Managed EDR service. We look for specific signals or behaviours that suggest something isn’t right, investigate them and escalate anything genuinely suspicious to the Security Operations Centre for remediation. The service continuously monitors, hunts and responds, helping filter out noise whilst reacting quickly to real threats.
How does the Managed EDR onboarding process work, and can the system integrate with my existing SIEM?

MDR onboarding is usually straightforward and handled almost entirely in the background. We check device compatibility first, remove any tools it’s replacing and then roll out the new agent in a phased or piloted way so we can confirm everything behaves as expected. Issues are rare, but caution is important, which is why we handle the heavy lifting for you.

As for integration with your existing SIEM software, it’s not something you can assume by default – some tools work together smoothly and others don’t – but we’ll assess your setup and confirm what’s possible before deployment.

What is XDR and should my business choose Managed EDR or Managed XDR services? Do you offer specialist compliance and affordable EDR solutions for UK law firms, financial services, or other sectors?

XDR (Extended Detection and Response) goes beyond endpoints and pulls in signals from networks, infrastructure and other systems. In practice, at least in our case, it overlaps heavily with SIEM. Our SIEM platform includes flexible XDR-style functionality with behavioural monitoring and threat hunting, so this is more than sufficient for our clients.

If you don’t have a strong SIEM solution, XDR can be a viable option, but our combined Managed EDR and SIEM model already delivers that broader visibility.

We offer affordable Managed EDR solutions suitable for all sectors.
