Welcome to our Spring newsletter

Our first Bits & Bytes of 2025 is here! We have several exciting topics to cover in our Spring newsletter and we're sure you're buzzing with anticipation, so we won't keep you waiting any longer!

Our core article this month covers the end of support for Windows 10 coming this October, bringing its decade in the spotlight to a close. We cover all of the next steps you need to know, from ensuring your hardware can handle the upgrade to Windows 11 to securing your data and planning for the upgrade. Whilst support doesn't end until October, it's crucial you act now so you're not panicking when the time comes!

We're also sharing a new blog from The Clear Group on how cyber liability insurance can protect your business. We did a great event last year with the wonderful Laura Wilkinson of The Clear Group, and ever since we've been sharing resources and advice. Having cyber liability insurance can provide peace of mind to business owners, with the knowledge that if disaster does strike, you have another person fighting your corner.

Lots of you are experimenting with and asking about Copilot so we are highlighting our Copilot webinar recording - AI is picking up the pace, and whether you're a supporter or a skeptic, it's important you know what you're dealing with. We have a wide range of resources on our blog you should check out before purchasing any sort of Copilot licence - it's crucial you understand the ramifications before using this comprehensive piece of software.

Last but not least, we're sharing what we've been up to over the past few months! Luke and Steve had a great few days attending IT Nation Connect in London. Not long after, Steve took another outing, this time joined by Luisa, to the LYRA conference where best practice and AI were on the agenda.

We hope you enjoy our first newsletter of 2025!

The Clear Group, an award-winning cyber insurance provider, has prepared an article that answers questions most frequently asked by those considering cyber insurance and wondering whether they need it.

Laura Wilkinson of The Clear Group was one of our expert speakers at a Byte-size Briefing event we held last year, where we discussed all things Cyber Resilience. Watch Laura's full briefing here - it's a good watch and is packed full of advice.

Continuous learning and improvement

Spring 2025 Conferences and workshops-1

This year we’ve attended a whole host of conferences and workshops already, and we’ve no sign of letting up! Events like this give us the chance to have a great catch up with our peers, but they provide much more than that – they give us the opportunity to learn a lot, discuss our problems and then bring newfound solutions home to implement for our clients. It’s all part of the process of continuous improvement and providing peace of mind to our clients!

Managing Director Luisa Marques attended the Lyra Technology Group Leadership conference in Florida with 150 other business leaders from our 70+ sister companies. There was a big focus on the importance of customer service, having a good team around you and creating value for clients. We shared our experience as a provider with strong CSAT scores and a reliable team around us, and took away with us some valuable knowledge from our peers.

More recently, Technical Director Steve Anderton and Professional Services Automation and Field Engineer Luke Harrington attended ConnectWise IT Nation Connect in London. Steve attended several conferences over the week and Luke attended workshops – there was a heavy focus on process automation and workflows, a popular topic at the moment with the steady advancement of AI.

Luisa and Steve then rounded off a busy week with another Lyra event, this time a lot closer to home in London. These conferences and events are always an excellent opportunity to catch up with like-minded companies who share the same goals and a similar ethos. To round it all off, our Founder Raja Pagadala won the Lifetime Achievement award for his outstanding contributions to our industry - a fitting accolade for a great leader and trailblazer! Congratulations, Raja!

We’ve learnt a lot this year, and we’ve only just begun!

Thank you for reading and sharing

March 31st was World Backup Day. Backups exist so you can recover your business or personal data. It's a good reminder to review how much data you stand to lose and how quickly you can recover if the worst happens. Laura advises on how insurance provides multiple recovery resources. Our blog explains how planning and practice helps you recover when the pressure is on.

It's often said that March 31st is a timely reminder to pay attention to backup because the day after is 1st April, and nobody wants to feel a fool for not having checked their backup!
