The UK National Cyber Security Council (NCSC) have launched their new and improved Cyber Security Toolkit For Boards Hub designed to help UK businesses better understand essential cyber security principles.

This update expands upon the hub’s existing resources, which includes its Board toolkit, designed to teach businesses about cyber security and make it a major topic for board discussion. This also includes a PDF of their full ‘Cyber Security Toolkit For Boards Guidance’ available for free download.

The new features the NCSC is introducing include an audio and video tab, where they collate their multimedia content and resources. This includes an interview with Jacqueline de Rojas, president of Digital Leaders and TechUK on the topic of helping boards get cyber security on the agenda.

There is also a series called ‘Spotlight Topics’ which addresses one by one major cyber security issues facing businesses today, from ransomware to password hygiene. This series discusses how key decision-makers should navigate, solve and protect against these cyber security threats.

In addition to this, the NCSC has also added PowerPoint decks in the hub which businesses can download and use internally. These presentations guide users through what the Board toolkit is, and how to use it effectively.

Hopefully, resources like the NCSC’s Cyber Security Toolkit For Boards Hub will help make security a critical consideration of Boards throughout the country. For business leaders, having an internal, informed dialogue between your board and security experts is essential to executing a successful cyber security strategy.
