TWO MINUTE INTERVIEW

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at work?

I love snowboarding, mountain walking, fresh air and the West Country. It’s not necessarily my favourite pastime, but I do enjoy running and training for half marathons – though actually doing the half marathon is not as much fun! I also like reading, generally non-fiction (latest books: 'The Breakthrough Company' by Keith McFarland and 'Freakonomics').

Likes or dislikes?

I dislike the Piccadilly Line intensely - and as for watching Scotland play rugby, well that’s a like and a dislike, as it’s very painful sometimes!

Awards, accomplishments or anything you are particularly proud of?

I’m proud of the volunteer work I did in Colorado and Africa, leading and training groups of young people to maximise their potential, and in not getting killed by nasty bugs and animals! Getting my three MCSEs for Windows 2003, 2000 and NT4 (one of the first 5,000 people in the world to get MCSE for W2000) was quite an achievement as well. I’m not so proud of my history of very ropey DJ-ing, weddings and Bar Mitvahs were a speciality!

Editor’s Note

Malcolm has also done wing-walking, having been volunteered by a colleague in a previous job, and a bungee jump. We all think he’s quite mad . . .
