The Final Step

On Wednesday  Microsoft announced that Windows 8 has been released to manufacturing. The final code of Windows 8 will be available to IT professionals for testing on August 15th. 

For consumers, as previously announced, Windows 8 will be available on October 26th. If you purchase a new eligible Windows 7 PC you will be able to upgrade to Windows 8 for a nominal fee. 

Windows also confirmed this week that their Surface tablets will be available on the Windows 8 launch day.
