Government target cybercrime

The police have announced three new regional cybercrime prevention units as a result of £6m of government investment. The units will work alongside the Metropolitan Police Centre e-crime Unit. This is part of a £30m initiative to stop e-crime nationally. In February the government posted figures for the first time on how much cybercrime costs the British economy. They estimate it to be £27 billion, with business bearing £21 billion of those costs.
